Selflogic

Main purpose of this product is to block user phone while driving a car. Potential clients of the system are companies with car fleets that are very interested in reducing insurance costs and protecting their employees. Application not only locks the phone, but can handle incoming calls (e.g. reject and automatically reply with configurable SMS message) or SMSs (e.g. read them with text to speech technology).

To lock the phone I created mechanism of detection start and end of ride and it combined such methods as bluetooth handsfree system, OBDII standard, GPS, push messages and/or SMS. What is more I prepared special API to control screen protection from external applications installed on the same device (phone).
